collegiate Division I women’s

Eligibility
All Division I Conference Defensive Players of the Year are eligible to be

* Present-year game-by-game statistics (steals, defensive rebounds, offensive rebounds, blocked shots,
and offensive charges)
* Stats of the top players the nominee has defended during the season
*Awards/Achievements
Nomination
When the Division I Conference Defensive Players of the Year are selected, the
WBCA will collect all criteria listed above from the conference SIDs. A spreadsheet will be compiled and sent to the WBCA Division I Defensive
Player of the Year committee for review.
Selection
The WBCA Division I Defensive Player of the Year selection committee will review
the nomination forms prior to the selection conference call in March. During
the
call, the
committee will discuss the
candidates and then they will vote on the WBCA Division I Defensive Player
of the Year. The player with the most votes is the WBCA Division I Defensive
Player of the

The WBCA Division I Defensive Player of the Year award is presented annually
at the WBCA Awards Luncheon during the WBCA National Convention.
