With a continuous thirst for growth and knowledge, Jessica is truly eager and excited for what this experience with the WBCA will unfold, eventually leading up to an amazing career as the Commissioner of the WNBA.

Brittney Marshall
Loyola University Chicago

Brittney Marshall
Special Projects Intern - WBCA's So You Want To Be A Coach

Born and raised on the outskirts of Chicago, Brittney Marshall has always had a passion for sports. Basketball, however, is what earned her two athletic scholarships and subsequent degrees; an Associate in Biology from Southeastern Illinois College, and a Bachelors of Arts in Communication from Loyola University Chicago in May, 2009.

While balancing the busy schedule of a student-athlete, Brittney always found time to serve as a positive role model to other aspiring athletes. With leadership positions held at the YMCA and Tim Hardaway Basketball Camps, she was responsible for improving skills on the court as well as providing guidance on issues off the court. Her love for being a teacher of the game eventually led her to an Assistant Coaching position at her alma mater, Percy Julian Jr. High in Oak Park, Illinois.

Brittney had a chance to sit in the learning seat when she interned for the WNBA’s Chicago Sky as Director of Basketball Operations. There she gained an understanding of the inner workings of women’s basketball’s highest level of competition and sought out ways to develop the sport for women.

This common interest in advocating the development of women’s basketball is what led Brittney to the WBCA as a Special Projects intern. Here she hopes to learn the formal structure of women’s athletics, while finding her nitch and ways to add value to the game.
