Nathan Saverino joins the WBCA as a senior undergraduate student at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo.  He will graduate in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management with a minor in business administration.  Saverino currently maintains a 4.0 grade point average at Southeast, and last year he earned the Provost Award for the College of Health and Human Services and was named the Sport Management Major of the Year.

While at Southeast, Saverino worked as a student assistant in the Redhawks Sports Information Department since January 2005.  He held a wade range of responsibilities, including primary contact for the 2007 baseball team and assistant contact for the 2006 football squad.
Saverino also gained experience working in professional baseball during the summer of 2006, when he interned with the St. Joe Blacksnakes, then an independent minor league franchise in the American Association.  As a Blacksnakes intern, he was responsible primarily for group ticket sales and game-time entertainment management.

Saverino is a native of St. Joseph, Mo., where he grew up and graduated from Central High School in 2004.  He is the son of Steve and Leslie Saverino and has one sister, Emily, and one brother, Nick.



Valerie Moore

It was clear from an early age that Valerie would embark on a career in athletics.  As a child growing up in Savannah, Georgia, she rarely left her dad’s side and he deserves the credit for her passion for athletics. 

Valerie carried that passion with her to the University of Georgia where she earned a B.B.A. in Management and a B.S.Ed. in Sport Studies.  While at the University, Valerie served as a student assistant in the sports communications department of the UGA Athletic Association working with volleyball, women’s basketball and softball.  She performed media relations duties at the 2006 NCAA Gymnastics Regional, the 2006 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament and 2006 SEC Football Championship to name a few.

As the Convention Logistics intern at the WBCA, Valerie will gain valuable experience in event management and assist the director of events in the planning and execution of the 2008 WBCA National Convention in Tampa, Florida.  She hopes to enter graduate school in the fall to earn her Masters in Public Administration and will continue to pursue a career in athletics.



Nicole Jackson
Ball State University

Nicole Jackson
WBCA High School All-American Game Intern

Nicole Jackson is the WBCA High School All-American game intern.  Nicole, a native of Chicago, is no stranger to hard work.  She is a December 2007 graduate of Ball State University in which she graduated in 3.5 years with her Bachelor of Science in Sports Administration while working two jobs throughout. 
While in college, Nicole worked as a Facility Supervisor in the University’s Office of Recreation where she worked with professional and graduate staff in the ongoing development and implementation of University Recreation Services policies and procedures. 

Prior to coming to the WBCA, Nicole interned with The Gary South Shore RailCats Minor League Baseball team in the summer of 2006. 

Nicole went back to the Windy City for a summer 2007 internship in Game Operations with the WNBA’s Chicago Sky where she developed a love for women’s basketball.  With the Chicago Sky, Nicole was responsible for planning and coordinating on floor execution of game timeouts, contests, game activities and events.

In the future, Nicole plans to continue her education in Law School and pursue her interest in Sports Law with hopes of working for a Sports Governing Body such as the NCAA in the area of compliance or basketball operations.



Beckley Stover

Beckley, a native of East Lansing, Michigan, graduated from Denison University in 2006 with a degree in economics and a certificate in organizational studies. Immediately following her undergraduate career, she enrolled at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She completed her Masters of Science in Management in May of 2007.

Beckley has always been passionate about the business of sports, and her desire to pursue it professionally was confirmed during a 2006 internship with the Atlanta based sports management agency Career Sports & Entertainment.  During this time, her responsibilities focused primarily on client marketing research.

In the future, Beckley hopes to pursue a career in sports marketing with an agency or professional team in a position that has a focus on community relations.

Special Projects Intern - Nike's So You Want To Be A Coach

Being from a lineage of talented basketball players, it is no surprise that Ashley N. Company has an innate passion for the game.  She has continually excelled in basketball and academia since elementary schooling. Naturally, she intends to pursue a career in the sports industry upon graduation with B.S. in Sport Management from Hampton University in May of 2008.

With offers from the Women’s Sport Foundation and the Georgia Sport Foundation, Ashley chose to display her efforts and talents here with the WBCA.  She is thrilled about the opportunity to direct and coordinate Nike’s "So You Want To Be A Coach” program in the capacity of a Special Projects Intern.

Prior to interning with the WBCA, Ashley worked as a site coordinator for an AAU Nike Invitational Basketball Tournament. She also served as a student marketer for Hampton University’s D-I football program in Hampton, VA and interned with Arena Racing USA in Norfolk, VA.  In addition to her passion for the game, Ashley is committed to the service and uplift of her community.  She uses her free time to tutor and mentor children, visit those in assisted living homes, and participate in voter registration drives. She is most proud to be a member of the United States Army Reserve.

Ashley’s long term goal is to found and grow her own sports foundation that fosters a safe and positive environment that will promote childhood development both academically and athletically.



Stephanie Davis

Stephanie Davis
Convention Banquets and Signage Intern

Stephanie Davis is a graduate Sports Administration student at Georgia State University.  She currently has a 3.65 GPA and hopes to complete her program in fall 2009.  She received her Mass Communication, B.A. on the broadcast journalism track at Auburn University.

Her interest in sports was sparked in the two years she was an Auburn University Tigerette, serving to recruit for the football program that included members of the 2004 Undefeated and SEC Champion Season.  Stephanie joins the WBCA Events team fresh from completing an events marketing internship with the Atlanta Falcons. Her duties included scheduling, management and execution of grassroots programs and game day events.

Stephanie is an Alabama native.  She is the daughter of Janette Lonidier.  She also has one younger sister, Brittany and a dog named Toby.  Her spare time is devoted to soaps, reality television, and working out.
