What is “Shootaround with Beth and Debbie”?
“Shootaround with Beth and Debbie” is a ground-breaking podcast committed to talking about women’s basketball every week on the national level.  The goal of the podcast is to create awareness of women’s basketball and to grow our game.  “Shootaround” is a podcast designed like a sports talk-radio show, featuring insightful commentary, news and interviews from the highly-respected announcing tandem, Beth Mowins and Debbie Antonelli.  Beth and Debbie cover over 100 women’s basketball games a year in leagues across the country. This season marks the third year that the podcast has aired.

Why do we need “Shootaround with Beth and Debbie”?
There is nothing available to women’s basketball coaches, players and fans of the game to engage in nationwide sports talk and entertainment.  “Shootaround” is the very first national women’s basketball podcast!

What makes “Shootaround” informative and entertainment?
Each show will include interviews with coaches, players, legends of the game and hoop pundits.  Trivia and games will be included in each show, as well as the inclusion of fan emails.  The email address for any comments, questions or topics of interest is shootaround@wbca.org.

When will “Shootaround” air each week?
The show will be a 30-minute weekly show which will launch each week on Wednesday at Noon ET beginning on Nov. 11, 2009, at www.wbca.org.  The conference preview launch will be on Nov. 4, 2009, at Noon ET.

What is “Shootaround” capable of during the season?
“Shootaround” will take the coverage of women’s basketball to a new level with more in-depth and big-picture dialogue.  Expect exclusive coverage and discussion on the hot topics of women’s basketball.  In addition, “Shootaround” will be live at the WBCA National Convention.

How can I help promote “Shootaround”?
Eight conferences will host conference previews, in preparation for the launch of the podcast on Nov. 11 on www.wbca.org.  Then, we hope that each of you can assist in promoting the podcast by linking to it from you website.  We also encourage you to include it in your game notes, gameday program/inserts and send out the link to your media lists, telling your fans, coaches, players and boosters about it, etc.
