Three Players Added to Wade Watch List

ATLANTA - The State Farm Wade Trophy Committee elected to add three additional student-athletes to the 2007-2008 State Farm Wade Watch List. Idaho State's Natalie Doma, Middle Tennessee's Amber Holt and California's Ashley Walker are the newest members of this prestigious list. They join the pool of 26 players, which includes 25 selected during the preseason and one added in December.

The committee decided to add the trio of players to the Wade Watch as each has enjoyed tremendous on-court success this season.

Doma joins the list as the only player in the nation ranked in the top five in both scoring and rebounding. She currently ranks third averaging 24.1 points per game and fourth with 11.9 rebounds per game. A 6-3 center, Doma is shooting 50.8 percent from the field, 38.1 percent from three and 83.2 percent from the free throw line. The senior has been named Big Sky Player of Week four times this season, and she has earned the honor a Big Sky record 11 times in her career.

Holt is the nation's leading scorer, averaging 26.8 points per game. With over 500 total points scored this season, she leads the category by more than two points per game and ranks 40th nationally with a 54.2 field goal percentage. The 6-0 senior forward has recorded five double-doubles this season and seven 30-plus point performances. Holt posted a career-high 41 points on December 28 in Middle Tennessee's win over then No. 8 Lousiana State.

Walker is the final addition to the Wade Watch. The 6-1 forward/center currently leads Cal in both scoring (16.6 points per game) and rebounding (9.6 rebounds per game). She ranks in the top five in the Pac-10 in seven statistical categories, including first in rebounding and offensive rebounds (4.0 rpg). Meanwhile, the junior also leads the conference with nine double-doubles this seasons, brining her career total to 29. She has recorded six 20-plus point performances this season, including a season-high 31 points and career-high 23 rebounds against Fresno State in the season opener.

The renowned “Wade Watch” list for the State Farm Wade Trophy is comprised of student-athletes who are members of an NCAA Division I institution and are selected based on the following criteria: game and season statistics, leadership, character, effect on their team and overall playing ability.

The Wade Trophy Coalition was established in June of 2000 when the WBCA partnered with The National Association of Girls and Women in Sport (NAGWS). For the past five years the two have worked together to present The State Farm Wade Trophy Player of the Year Award. A committee comprised of coaches, administration and media from across the United States selects the winner.
