WBCA to Launch "Shootaround with Beth and Debbie", the First National Women's Basketball Podcast

Beth Mowins and Debbie Antonelli will co-host the weekly show

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced the launch of a new weekly podcast entitled "Shootaround with Beth and Debbie". The highly-respected tandem of Beth Mowins and Debbie Antonelli will co-host the 30-minute weekly show, expected to launch at WBCA.org on November 14, 2007.

Prior to the national launch, "Shootaround with Beth and Debbie" will air conference previews on six of the nation's powerhouse conference websites beginning on November 1, 2007. Listen now by clicking the links below!

The ground-breaking podcast will provide in-depth coverage of women's basketball every week on the national level in order to create awareness of women's basketball and grow the game. Designed like a sports talk-radio show, the podcast will feature insightful commentary, news, interviews, trivia and much more.

"I am excited to give hard core, passionate basketball fans like me a platform to talk hoops. This show will be informative, fun and edgy. Our goal is to help the game grow in interest and popularity," Antonelli said. "Mowins and I will have fun giving fans a weekly fix on the happenings inside the women's game."

Mowins jokingly adds, "And I look forward to being the consummate point guard by distributing the ball, directing traffic and controlling the microphones so Debbie doesn't talk too much."

Mowins and Antonelli cover over 100 women's basketball games each year in leagues across the country. Feel free to email them at shootaround@wbca.org to submit questions for the show, ideas for discussion or general feedback.
