INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

ATLANTA,
Ga. -- WBCA sponsor, AthleticLink.com, has donated $212 to the Betty F.
Jaynes Internship Program Fund. The donation was the outcome of a promotion
leading up to the national convention in March, with a portion of Internet
job posting proceeds earmarked for the program.
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) utilizes AthleticLink.com technology for its web-based "resources link" at www.wbca.org, providing the tools for posting jobs, resumes and notifying fellow coaches of open competition dates, clinics and events. In the spring, job postings are numerous and the site is the best location to find jobs and employees. This past season, posting a job in March assisted the BFJ internship program. AthleticLink.com president, Sandra Vivas, participated as a speaker at Nike's So You Want To Be A Coach seminar and for the third year, outfitted the WBCA Career Center at the convention where coaches could view the latest job openings and pick up resumes of candidates. "Betty Jaynes has been a friend and colleague for over 20 years. She has always been committed to educating young people and providing them opportunities in basketball. I was honored to be able to participate at the convention and give back to this very special program," said Vivas. The Betty F. Jaynes Internship Program offers seven positions to qualified individuals interested in pursuing a career in athletics. All interns participate in the annual WBCA National Convention, held annually in conjunction with the NCAA Division I Women's Final Four. The Betty F. Jaynes Internship Program strives to educate its interns in all aspects of a professional athletic association including marketing, community relations and event management. Through practical experience, interns learn in a high-energy environment. Betty F. Jaynes interns have an opportunity to participate in the WBCA National Convention while increasing their hands-on work experience. Betty F. Jaynes interns gain valuable management and relationship-building skills. "It is always an honor to share in the same vision for young men
and women while also providing the means to be surrounded by the game
of basketball," says Betty F. Jaynes, WBCA consultant and former
CEO. "We appreciate all contributions that are given to the program
and know that this would not be possible without such generous support."
