ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and Eastman
Kodak Company today announced the 2005 NCAA Division I Kodak/WBCA All-America
Basketball Team. This year's team marks the 31st year of the longest running
sponsorship in women's athletics between the WBCA and Kodak. A selection committee
representing each of the eight WBCA geographical regions selects ten of the
top women's basketball players in the nation to be honored. The members of the
2005 NCAA Division I Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team are as follows:

This year's team consists of two; two-time Kodak/WBCA All-Americans in Augustus
and McCarville. The remaining members of the team are receiving the Kodak/WBCA
All-America honor for the first time in their careers.
Wiggins becomes the ninth freshman in history to earn this prestigious recognition,
which has been given since 1975. Ann Meyers (UCLA-1975), Lynette Woodard
(Kansas-1978), Cheryl Miller, (USC-1983) Janet Harris (Georgia-1984),
Katie Smith (Ohio State-1993), Chamique Holdsclaw (Tennessee-1996),
Tamika Catchings (Tennessee-1998), and LaToya Thomas (Mississippi
State-2000) preceded her in earning this feat.
"This year's group is filled with fresh new faces. These ten young ladies
represent the future of women's basketball," said WBCA CEO Beth Bass. "Considering
the overwhelming field of talent at this level of the game, the Kodak/WBCA All-America
Team Selection Committee has done an excellent job choosing another class of
All-Americans."
