ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and Eastman Kodak Company today announced the 2004 NCAA Division I Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team. Selection committees in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions select ten women's basketball players to be honored. The members of the 2004 NCAA Division I Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team are as follows (asterisks denote number of years the player was named to the team):
*Chandi Jones is the first player from the University of Houston and Conference USA to make the Kodak All-America team. "The committee did an excellent job in selecting this 30th anniversary team," said WBCA Chief Executive Officer Beth Bass. "These players have had excellent seasons and are deserving of this most prestigious honor and recognition. The WBCA wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors." "Kodak is proud to partner with the WBCA in honoring the best women's
collegiate players as Kodak/WBCA All-Americans," said Bud Denker, Director
& VP of Brand & Market Development at Kodak. "Kodak recognizes
the accomplishments of young athletes and the positive recognition they bring
to their school by displaying their talents on the basketball floor." Founded in 1981, the WBCA promotes women's basketball by unifying coaches at
all levels to develop a reputable identity for the sport and to foster and promote
the development of the game as an amateur sport for women and girls. For additional
