| California University of PA's Becky Siembak Named State Farm/WBCA NCAA Division II Player of the Year | |

LILBURN, Ga. (March 26, 2003) -- The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) today announced that California University of PA's Becky Siembak has been named the NCAA Division II State Farm/WBCA Player of the Year. WBCA presents this award annually to the top players in each of the five WBCA collegiate divisions (Divisions I, II, III, NAIA and JC/CC).
"Becky has had an incredible season," said WBCA Chief Executive Officer Beth Bass. "We are extremely pleased to present Becky with the NCAA Division II State Farm/WBCA Player of the Year award and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors."
Siembak, who lead the Vulcans in scoring and rebounding this season, was the PSAC-West Player of the Year. She helped California University of PA to their second consecutive PSAC-West title and state championship. She was also named to the PSAC-West First Team All-Conference and Daktronics First Team All-East Region Team.
Siembak will be formally presented this year at the 2003 State Farm Wade Trophy/WBCA Players of the Year presentation at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 7th at the Atlanta Marriot Marquis. The State Farm Wade Trophy/WBCA Player of the Year presentation is part of the 2003 WBCA National Convention, held in conjunction with the NCAA Division I Women's Final Four in Atlanta.
Founded in 1981, the WBCA promotes women's basketball by unifying coaches at all levels to develop a reputable identity for the sport and to foster and promote the development of the game in all of its aspects as an amateur sport for women and girls.
