WBCA - Women's Basketball Coaches Association

The State Farm/WBCA Players of the Year

Definition
Presented annually to the best women's basketball player in NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, Junior College/Community College, and High School.

Eligibility
All academically eligible women's basketball players in each of the five divisions (DII, DIII, NAIA, JC, High School) qualify as candidates

*Effect on team
*Leadership
*Character
*Overall playing ability

Nomination
Nominees are selected from the pool of State Farm Coaches' All-America nominees in each collegiate division (NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, and JC/CC). The State Farm Coaches' All-America High School candidates are nominated by a WBCA member high school coach.

Selection
Nominees are selected from the pool of State Farm Coaches' All-America Teams. The top State Farm Coaches' All-America vote-getter in each collegiate division is named The State Farm/WBCA Player of the Year.

The High School Player of the Year is chosen by the WBCA Girls' High School All-America Selection Committee. The State Farm Coaches' High School All-America Team is selected by the State Farm Coaches' Girls' High School All-America Selection Committee.

Presentation
The Collegiate Players of the Year are honored annually at the WBCA National Convention. The High School Player of the Year is announced at the WBCA High School All-America Game and announced at their championship.
