RUSSELL ATHLETIC Together We R Team Award

Definition
Created in the 2011-2012 award year, the RUSSELL ATHLETIC Together We R Team Award honors a team that has overcome unforeseen barriers during the current season and finishes the year with accomplishments that have exceeded their expectations. Teams must have faced an extraordinary circumstance such as an unforeseen team crisis, barrier or an unfortunate situation that caused extra stress on the performance of the team and how the team succeeds in overcoming these happenings. Teams must exemplify strong commitment to core values of togetherness, courage, unparalleled work ethic and heart, and must personify "Together We R": the belief that teams are stronger than individuals.

Eligibility
Any WBCA member at the collegiate and high school level is eligible to submit a description of the extraordinary circumstance for their team.

Criteria
• Must have faced some form of extraordinary circumstance during the current season
• Nominator is required to submit a description of the circumstance on institution letterhead, to be no more than 2 pages (12-point type, double spaced), by email to dtrujillo@wbca.org by the designated deadline that contains the following information:
   o Name of the WBCA member submitting the team nomination
   o Description of the extraordinary circumstance
   o Description of how the situation affected the team
   o Description of how the team overcame the challenge
• In the event that your team is selected as a finalist, you must have the ability to create and upload a two-minute video describing the event(s).

Selection of the Finalists
In February, the selection committee, composed of a sub-group of WBCA Past Presidents, will read through all submissions and select the finalists. The WBCA will contact finalists and inform them on next steps (create and upload a two-minute video).

Voting
Once the finalist videos have been uploaded, the WBCA membership and fans will cast their votes by visiting You Tube and selecting "like" for the video they feel is most deserving of this award. These votes will be tallied and counted as 1 vote. They will then be combined with the final voting results of the committee members to determine the winner.

Presentation
The RUSSELL ATHLETIC Together We R Team Award will be presented annually at the WBCA Awards Show during the WBCA National Convention.
