Biography
Ticha Penicheiro was a two-time First Team All-American as well as a four-time First Team All-Colonial Athletic Association while at Old Dominion. She averaged 9.8 points-per-game, 4.7 rebounds-per-game, 7.1 assists-per-game, and 4.44 steals-per-game in 133 contests played during her four-year career at Old Dominion. Throughout her college career, the team went 119-14, won four conference titles, and made four postseason appearances. Ticha set an NCAA Final Four record with eight steals in the 1997 Championship game loss to the Tennessee Volunteers. She finished her career as the conference’s all-time leader in steals with 591 and ranked second in assists with 939. Ticha scored a career-high of 25 points vs. Tennessee (1/7/1997). She was also provided an additional year of eligibility under Proposition 68 which allowed partial qualifiers a fourth season of competition if they received an undergraduate degree prior to their fifth academic year.
