Tour"
|

| ATLANTA, Ga. -The Women's Basketball
Coaches Association (WBCA) begins touring the eastern United States for
a "madness" of their own. Hitting the road on March 4, 2006, the
WBCA will be showcasing their WBCA branded vehicle as well as the Orbitz
Coaches' Trophy at two conference tournaments in addition to the Naismith
Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
The tour debuts in Greensboro, N.C, at the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) championship game. From there, the trophy will be parked in Hartford, Conn., for the Big East championship game. For the tour's final destination, the WBCA will travel to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. The WBCA will also make several "home visits" along the way with stops at colleges and universities in the immediate area. "The WBCA is excited to embark on the premiere "Victory Tour" in an effort to gain more exposure for the WBCA brand and women's basketball," said WBCA CEO Beth Bass. "I think this is an important step by the WBCA to increase exposure for our association and salute the top honor in NCAA Division I women's basketball. We look forward to continuing this newfound tradition in years to come." The trophy will be chauffeured on the "Victory Tour" by Kai Williams, Marketing and Sales Coordinator, and Coretta Brown, WBCA intern and current WNBA player for the Indiana Fever, in an extremely "sporty" vehicle that you will not be able to miss! Already garnering 4,500 miles during the 2005-2006 women's basketball season, the Orbitz Coaches' Trophy has toured the nation visiting Connecticut (Dec. 5), LSU (Jan. 30), Tennessee (Feb. 9), Duke (Feb. 13), Ohio State (Feb. 20) and Rutgers (Feb. 27). The Orbitz Coaches' Trophy is presented by Orbitz in partnership with the WBCA, and is given to the coach of the No. 1 ranked team in the final USA TODAY ESPN Top 25 Division I Coaches Poll. This trophy is the ultimate goal of each Division I team across America, earmarking them as the top team in the nation. The Division I winner will receive the trophy following the NCAA® Women's Final Four®. This marks the 13th year that the trophy will be awarded. Founded in 1981, the WBCA promotes women's basketball by unifying coaches
at all levels to develop a reputable identity for the sport and to foster
and promote the development of the game in all of its aspects as an amateur
sport for women and girls. For more information about the WBCA, please
