Scam Alert

The scam targeting young minority coaches which the WBCA office has previously informed you about has altered its tactics. Rather than claiming to be John Chaney representing Asics, the scammers are now claiming to be Nolan Richardson representing Converse when they call their intended victims. Otherwise, the enticements used to draw victims into the scam remain the same.


Association Updates

WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls presented by AT&T. Nominations are being accepted until 5 p.m. ET June 24.

Membership adopts comprehensive revision to bylaws. The WBCA bylaws receive first major overhaul since the organization was formed in 1981.

The Center for Coaching Excellence. A group of 36 coaches attended The Center for Coaching Excellence hosted at Columbia University for the fifth year.

Career Center. Visit the WBCA Career Center to find open coaching positions.

Games Needed. NCAA, NAIA and junior/community college programs in need of games for the 2015-16 season can send the information to for posting on Please contact Libby when games have been filled so that she can remove them from the listing.



Rules Changes. The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel approved select changes to the women’s game.

WBHOF Induction Ceremony

Class of 2015. The 2015 Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony weekend took place June 12-13 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The south rotunda was also named in honor of Pat Summitt over the weekend.
